2026 Summer : Artist-in-residence at Walden, Menerbes, France

“Excited to welcome soon Claire at Walden Village! Claire Lee lives and works in Hong Kong, where she develops a multifaceted practice exploring notions of memory, identity, and collective or personal wounds. Her work invites a sensory and contemplative experience, reflecting the tensions inherent to the postcolonial and diasporic condition of Hong Kong, as well as contemporary anxieties. Claire creates often poetic and minimalist works, where silence, resilience, and fragments of everyday life intertwine — inks, installations, artist’s books, and poetic performances. We are thrilled to welcome our duo of artists at Walden for this summer, Claire Lee and Violaine Laveaux. Both will explore the local flora, notably cypress trees and Indian Pipe flowers. They will share about their practices and work in progress during an open studio in July.” - Walden
